Just brush, fix and respray. It will probably be easier to fix that way rather than rewash anyway.

I found my old dolls and would like them to be usable for the kids but the hair is tangled and wild.

1. Wash the hair thoroughly in dish-soap and water - rinse well.

2. Spray in a leave-in child's detangler (no-more-tears, whatever)

3. Lay the doll on your legs so her hair is over your thigh (lay down a towel first)

4. Comb REALLY well - working from the ends up to the 'scalp'

5. Once ALL of the tangles are out, sit the doll in the sink and pour boiling water over her head for about 10 seconds, immediately rinse in cold water.

You'll have beautiful straight shiny doll hair, that will stay smooth and tangle free for quite awhile even under serious play conditions.

Not that I am aware of. The need long hair, not short. The reason why is because you can't really sew in short hair on a wog very well. The next reason is, the reason they sell wigs that have long hair is so people can have them cut how they want. As far as I know, they don't want short hair. Sorry!

im not sure b/c the length has to be long so they can do something with it. just in case they mess up they have a few inches to play with. cut it, dye it, etc. the longer the better...but they should accept if people are willing to give their hair. if its your hair just let it grow out more.

If so, I really need help finding the perfect hair cut, pictures would be awesome!

So..I'll describe the hairstyle and you try to find a picture of it, tell me how I can cut it like this, and/or tell me how to describe it to my stylist...

First off, I need something that matches my personality, its sweet, shy, artistic, and bubbly. Then, I want an edgy hairstyle that would go well with black hair (and if you have any other colour suggestions feel free to add). And also, my clothing style is classic with an eclectic side to it.

I really want a short hair cut with long bangs, but something different from the scene kids. The hair will be a weave (sow-in) and then we'll cut that.

Lastly...I have an oval shaped face. Hope somebody can make something out of that. Best answer automatically gets 10 pts!

wow that sounds like a really cool color! I'm a mom and my daughter has worn so many different colors I can't count. She's back to her original color and colors it on special occasions. I think that parents freak out because they think it's weird and they don't want the neighbors to think that their kids are strange. Just my theory. i color my hair too. my natural color is dark brown and I color it light golden brown. I've done that since my daughter was in high school. I just got tired of the same old color. I guess I'm a little different from some of the parents. your parents shouldn't worry because it's not permanent and it washes out in ten shampoos. if you can talk them into it, I say go for it!

not all parents are against our kids getting their hair dye i have a son and when he was 10 years old i allowed him 2 get his hair done bright purple..there was alot of things i asked from him first one 2 wait in till school was out.2.make good grades a's and b's (before)3.and 2 allow my hair dresser 2 do it for him.i didnt want him doing it himself ..3.he had 2 agree 2 get it changed back 2 his regular hair color a week before school started but ever parent makes those choices and try talking 2 them about this dont take off when u start 2 hear something u dont want 2 hear dont yell we tend 2 get upsst and tune u out when that happens (or worst ground u) but i know u have heard this in till u r 18 u cant do it..my son thank goddness out grow getting this done ever summer and alot of differnt colors later. his dad was not happy about it (he is in the marine corp. and alot of that just isnt done) good luck

Sorry to say but your parents brought you into this world and are responsible for you until your of legal age. When you turn 18 there isn't a thing they can do about it. As a busy hair stylist and Colorist in malibu California (and the mom of 2 girls) I spent years trying to teach parents that the least harmful thing a child can do to their body is "color" their hair. It is 100% fully reversible...(you can cut it off, etc) ... and if hair color is the worst thing they ever have to worry about they should consider themselves lucky....

There is just a lot worse things than hair color.

As a teen every child has a phase they go thru where they want to express themself. . . its part of growing up.... some pierce their ears, some color their hair. some get tattoos, some do a lot worse things....

IT IS PART OF GROWING UP, and is fully reversible....

Tell them you are using "semi-permanent color" which means it shampoos out over time....

truthfully...i would highly NOT reccomend any brand that comes in a box.... not because I care about anything other than YOUR HAIR....

those box kits ruin hair...

if your hair is dark brown....just buy some manic panic in purple and put that on a 1 inch piece underneath...at least this way it won't ruin your hair....

we use hair thickening shampoo and we straighten it like crazy. The layers also help alot...lots and lots of layers. And! If you really want to have the full effect then color your hair light and do your roots a dark color then in the same color do lots of thin highlights in the same color as the roots.

Everyone is suggesting lemon juice. Lemon juice is a citric acid and is very drying to your hair. The sun doesn't need it's help in naturally highlighting your hair. The ultra-violet rays from the sun are damaging enough and dry out your hair, but not as drying if you use lemon juice. It's a myth. And, whatever you do, don't use "Sun In". That is the absolute worst hair product ever put on the market. Once it's in your hair, if you should decide to have any type of chemical service done to your hair, your hair might just either go up in smoke or down the drain. Just let the sun do it's thing.

P.S. Just saw Hydrogen Peroxide. Won't work either. 2% hydrogen peroxide for household use will not lighten hair.

Natural highlights can be done by mixing PURE lemon juice with a little water, in a squirt bottle... spray your hair then go out in the sun...

i've definately heard that lemon juice works.

in fact my mum used to do it to my hair when i was younger.

jsut make sure you wash all of it out not too long after you put it in and use conditioner or it could get a bit sticky...

Hormones etc is what happened.

I too wish that my hair was the same colour as it was when I were younger. But to add to the other answers - the only 'natural' way is to add lemon juice to your hair. Using a product like 'Sun-In' will give the same results but on a quicker timescale as you can use the heat of a hair dryer to speed up the process.

There isn't anything that brings your childhood hair color back, but you can make your hair color now look nicer.

Lemon juice brings out highlights.

Also there is this product as Sally beauty supply that enhances your color and adds shine. If you don't want to add color at all then there is one that adds only shine. It's called Clairol Radiance. It's in a purple bottle.

I have medium brown hair but I put some Clairol radiance l in light red brown on my hair every so often. This gives my hair red/brown undertones, which look absolutely gorgeous in the sun. Also it adds super super shine to hair. It gives my hair a lift that isn't drastic, yet noticeable.

Actually, only blanket has blonde hair, and like nicole said, it's probably a cover to protect him, Blanket was born with dark hair. The other two have dark hair. I personally believe that all of the children are Michael's. They have the same eyes as him. I would cut it now. It's really great that you're helping kids, but your hair seems like it'll grow really fast- why don't you help them out now and cut it, and then grow it out again and send that length again? That'll help more because you'll be able to keep sending hair.

I think you should continue to grow it out. And for work, try tying it up in a bun so that it is not in the way. Put it in a ponytail and wrap it around, then secure it with another hair tie.

That way you can have your long hair, but still have it more professional looking for work.

Another option would be to cut it off now, and donate what you have to locks of love because it seems like you have a lot of hair now.

I know you want to donate a longer ponytail, but the ends of your hair will be extremely dead anyway once you donate it, so donating it now isn't a bad idea.

Locks of Love only takes about 10 inches. They wouldn't cut your hair into one long pony tail, they would section it off with pony tail holders about every 11 inches or so and cut it then.

I am also only growing my hair out to donate it to Wigs for Kids. And I think you should donate it to wigs for kids instead. Locks of love doesn't give wigs to everybody. Only people who meet certain income criteria and are affected by only certain medical conditions. It is great what they are doing though, don't get me wrong, but I would go with Wigs for Kids.

If you don't like have short hair (anything above shoulders), then I kind of don't recommend getting the first one.

The second one is alright. But something about isn't standing out. It just looks plain and what everyone has.

But I adore the last one. I can never get my hair to go blonde. So automatically, I like blonde hair. But the colours in the picture/hair look really good.

So the third looks really nice and is my favourite.

Our school principal has gone nuts cause no one likes him and he wants to take it out on us. He recently told several students to get hair cuts because he said they were againist dress code but all the teachers didnt see anything wrong with them. He also picked out the kids with curly hair and made them pull their hair straight to see if it broke any rules. He also picked out a boy with blonde high lights and said that his hair is an abnormal color even though our superintendent prolly dyes his hair brown to cover his gray.( him and this kid haven't got along in 3 years). Now our handbook states that the hair cant be past our eyebrows and these boys all had curly hair that high above the brows and the others comb it to the side . So i just wanted some help cause as a student i plan on bringing this up at the next school board meetin..thanks

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

No, just make sure that they are a safe distance away from the chemicals so they can't touch them or accidently swallow anything. They chemicals can be strong, so I suggest that you do it in an open space with a window open, and keep the children either in another room or at least the other side of the room.

I have had this really annoying hair my entire life. It's straight at the top and wavy toward the ends. Both my parents have this luscious and long straight brown hair. My mother said that there's a trait in her family where almost all the kids had wavy hair when they were little but it straightened out as they grew older. Genes for hair are very complicated, not just a simple matter of dominant or recessive traits. It is possible that you take after your mother's side, but it is also possible that the hair you have now will be your's forever. If you don't like it, buy a flat iron, and be happy that your hair can be straight or wavy when you want it to be.

genes has alot to do with it, but your an inidvidual, like my mum, dad, and brother all have dark green eyes and I have bright blue....so im not sure if your hair will straighten out, but work with what you have, your lucky, you have the best of both worlds lol, you can either style it all wavy when you feel like it, or straighten out the ends if you want a change. hope this helps.

I know what your saying but I think that once you have children your body goes haywire. I mean I get really scared because when I wash my hair and add conditioner I notice my hair falls without force. But I mean chunks of it and its really scary. I found a trick though. Ask your hair stylist to trim your hair and explain to him/her whats been going on. They know exactly what to do when they trim your hair. Also they may refer you to a product.

Depends on the genes. Color can or will change, I was blonde til 9 yrs of age then turned to brunette. Dad has black hair and my moms is red. Go figure. 3 siblings, one has black hair others brunette.

No not necessarily, my daughter is just backwards,straight dark hair at birth like mine,then turned thin,curly,and the lightest brown. Plus, I'm an answer to your question, I had curly lighter brown hair when I was younger,up until about 2 and now have very dark,long straight hair.

Leave it alone! Don't use so much stuff on it, wash only every 4 days or more (you'll feel more "body" after 2nd day), get a good haircut that suits your face shape and hair. Relax and stop stressing about it - that will only make it worse.

In order to save some time and money I will often bathe our 8 year old and 12 year old boys together. My 12 year old has a pretty long skater style hair cut and it is often difficult for him to maintain so I do wash the kids, shampoo their hair for them. I usually get the bath started let them play for about 15 to 20 minutes and then come back in and wash their hair. We've tried to get him to wash his hair on his own, but it was really starting to stink.

They both have the option to bathe or shower alone, but lately i've been pressed for time and they don't want to wake up early in the morning. Is this still okay at this age?

Eight year old can take a shower or bath on his own. So can the 12 year old. He's 12 years old he should be able to wash his hair on his own, so should the 8 year old. They have no reason to shower together. It's time to let go of the reigns and tell them when they should take a shower and if they stink they stink. Eventually someone will tell them they sink it might sink in that they need to shower I'm referring to your 12 year old son. Or maybe just have his hair cut if he doesn't wash his hair properly.

They are too old to be doing this together, and they are too old for you to bathe them. They may eiter wake up early or they may do it before bed, but it MUST be done. If he doesn't wash his hair on his own (it's NOT hard!) he can have it cut off to an easier to maintain style (I've got VERY short hair).

I think this is a personal family preference..Some families are raised more private and some are raised more freely.. As everyone is saying how there to old.. i am thinking about the past when groups of boys or girls.. wouldn't think twice about jumping into the river for a private afternoon swim together to cool off.

Them bathing together is not an issue. I do however think it is inappropriate for you to see your 12 yr old naked on a regular basis like that. He is old enough now if he wants that kind of hair style he should take care of it himself.

My daughter...half-spanish....has to use both shampoo and conditioner to be able to comb it. lol But 2 times a week I put colesterol on her hair and it helps it a lot. Don't forget to rinse really well to get the extra out, though. Good luck!
